Abstract

This box contains images of the Kornfield family, their spouses, and some friends. There are one hundred ninety eight (198) photographs total, of which thirteen (13) have some description. Along with people, there is an emphasis on automobiles in the photos. Photos are divided roughly by size and their origin (scrapbook, loose, etc). Photos with descriptions are labeled.

Abstract

Harry Kadish (1818-1926) was a Russian immigrant who moved to Denver in 1880. He died at the age of 108. Was Russian Cavalry Commander in the Crimean War with Turkey in the 1850s.

Abstract

Paul Kwartin was a Brooklyn cantor who was born in Hungary and raised in Denver. He sang with the Central City Opera in Denver for eight seasons, appeared in a Broadway production of "No For An Answer", and was also a business manager. He died in his Westport, Connecticut home from cancer at age 63.

Born in Kansas in 1859, Kline journeyed to Denver with his family in 1862 behind a mule team. In his memoir he recalls the Cherry Creek flood of 1864, Lincoln's assassination, and living on the outskirts of Denver.
